The SCRSS reference and enquiry service covers all aspects of Russia and the former Soviet Union and is available to the general public. In-house expertise is complemented by a wide range of reference materials, including press cuttings on over 500 subjects mainly from Russian and Soviet periodicals translated into English.

Information packs are available to teachers and students for a small fee. General information packs cover the geography, customs and culture of Russia, and include a mix of information sheets, brochures, postcards, and stamps. Specialised information packs are provided on request, sourced from the press cuttings files.

Individual information sheets on Russian cultural topics are available, ranging from customs and festivals to ballet. Recent additions include Russia: Facts and Figures, Russian Music of the Soviet Period, and Russian Cooking.

The SCRSS also carries out fee-based commercial research on request.

Members of the Society may consult reference material. Non-members may use the information service on payment of an hourly fee. Contact the SCRSS for further information.

Opening Hours:

Monday - Friday, 10 - 1pm, 2 - 6pm

Appointments must be made by first-time visitors. Please contact the SCRSS.
